Highlights from this month’s report include:
- Global passenger-related emissions in February 2025 were 59m tonnes
- 15 of the 25 largest markets for emissions are still below February 2019 levels with Hong Kong and Germany showing the largest % decreases
- 38% of global aviation emissions in February 2025 were covered by a compliance programme
Spotlight on Germany
- Passenger-related emissions from airports in Germany were 1.36m tonnes in February 2025, -19% below 2019 levels
- Germany ranked 9th largest country for emissions in February 2025
- SunExpress had the lowest emissions per ASK out of the 10 largest airlines for emissions over the last 12 months
- When looking at emissions by airport over the last 12 months, airline operations from Dortmund Airport had the lowest emissions per ASK
