Highlights from this month’s report include:
- Global passenger-related emissions in June 2025 were 70m tonnes
- 42% of these emissions were covered by a compliance programme
- Looking at the 25 largest markets, 13 markets in June 2025 had aviation emissions below June 2019 levels
- Overall global aviation emissions January to June 2025 were 396m tonnes, 4m tonnes below January to June 2019 levels
Spotlight on Switzerland
- Passenger-related emissions from airports in Switzerland were 0.48m tonnes in June 2025, -2% below 2019 levels
- Switzerland ranked 31st largest country for emissions in June 2025
- Qatar Airways had the lowest emissions per ASK out of the 10 largest airlines for emissions operating from Switzerland over the last 12 months
- When looking at the largest Swiss airports for emissions over the last 12 months, airline operations from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg had the lowest emissions per ASK
