Highlights from this month’s report include:
- Global passenger-related emissions in July 2025 were 75m tonnes
- Of the 25 largest markets for passenger-related aviation emissions in July 2025; Hong Kong, Thailand and Germany saw the largest percentage decreases when compared to July 2019
- Conversely Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Greece saw the largest percentage increases in passenger-related aviation emissions in July 2025 when compared to July 2019
- Overall global aviation emissions January to July 2025 were 472m tonnes, 3m tonnes below January to July 2019 levels
Spotlight on Finland
- Passenger-related emissions from airports in Finland were 0.17m tonnes in July 2025, -21% below 2019 levels
- Finland ranked 53rd largest country for emissions in July 2025
- Norwegian Air International had the lowest emissions per ASK out of the 10 largest airlines for emissions operating from Finland over the last 12 months
- Whilst airline operations from Helsinki-Vantaa Airport were the largest source of aviation emissions they had the 3rd lowest emissions per ASK
